Position Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the schools’ financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes, and contributing to the overall success of our finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the full cycle of accounts receivable and payable, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Monitor daily financial operations, including school fee collections, e-payments, cheque issuance, petty cash management, and expense reimbursements
• Review and reconcile invoices, receipts, and monthly bank statements with ledger accounts
• Maintain and review accurate management accounts, ensuring timely month-end closing and preparation of regular financial reports
• Manage inventory, including regular stock takes of textbooks, uniforms, and school equipment.
• Support the annual audit process and assist in implementing effective financial controls and procedures
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of the accounting function
• Perform data entry, document filing, and other administrative tasks as required
• Handle ad hoc assignments and projects as directed by team head or school leadership

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably within a school or educational institution
• Qualified or associate member of professional accounting bodies (HKICPA, ACCA, CPA, CA, AICPA) is preferable 
• Proficiency in both English and Chinese (written and verbal), with fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Mature, well-organized, and capable of working independently under pressure
• High level of integrity and professionalism in handling confidential information
• Detail-oriented, diligent, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
• Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Google Drive, database management, and English & Chinese typing
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software is preferred
• Immediate availability will be an advantage
