JOB DESCRIPTION

ESF is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our core team as we embark on an ambitious Digital Modernization initiative. In this role, you will be responsible for the implementation and support of innovative applications that drive our digital transformation efforts.

As part of the team, you will work collaboratively to configure and customize applications that enhance user experience and improve operational efficiency. You will be involved in all stages from design through to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our applications are robust, scalable, and aligned with our strategic goals.

In addition to technical skills, we value a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across our 22 schools to gather requirements, identify challenges, and develop solutions that meet the needs of our organization and its users.
 

Core Professional / Technical Competencies Required:
 

Abilities

  • Experience in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirement gathering, system design, test planning and execution, end-user training and post-production system support.
  • Experience as part of a core team in the end-to-end implementation of successful projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion.
  • Proven experience and capability to lead database migration projects, demonstrating expertise in planning, executing, and overseeing the migration process to ensure data integrity and minimal disruption.
  • Relevant experience in configuring integrations with APIs using REST and SOAP protocols.
     

Knowledge

  • At least 4 years of SQL programming experience with a preference for SQL Server and/or Oracle.
  • At least 5 years of web application development experience in MS ASP/.NET/PHP
  • Proficiency in front-end frameworks (such as React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a strong advantage
  • At least two years of experience providing IT application support to end customers


Desirables

  • Strongly versed in database administration
  • Experience with IT applications in the education industry
  • Experience working with a Learning Management System (LMS), Student Information System (SIS) and Digital Adoption Platform (DAP) will be an added advantage.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an affinity for working in intercultural environments. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Takes the initiative to identify tasks that need to be done and completes them without being prompted.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively and manages time efficiently to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Adjusts to changing circumstances and new information, demonstrating flexibility in approach and execution.

Minimum typical education: University degree in Computer Science or related disciplines

Minimum typical experience: Over 7 years of IT application development and support experience.

Typical reporting relationship: Learning Management Systems Manager
