Role Introduction

Reports to: Head of DGT & IT Strategy & Planning

Department: IMT - Information Technology

As an instinctive communicator, you will be planning and leading the implementation of various internal communications and engagement strategies for Digital & IT department. You will be able to think outside the box to come up with campaigns and engagement initiatives that bring Cathay Digital and IT’s strategy to life with the ultimate goal of improving employee engagement and morale for the department. 

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

• Lead the implementation of Digital and IT internal communications and engagement strategy for key GBA cities (Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Guangzhou)
• Continuously review and improve how to effectively engage, reach and target various employee groups within the department
• Write, edit and translate content for online and offline channels – including day-to-day news and information both for the department and the broader Cathay employee base
• Lead with the development of reactive and proactive content and materials such as newsletters, intranet updates, townhalls, teams updates, presentations, videos and campaigns
• Support key initiatives within IT Strategy and Planning team with communication supports.
• Measure the effectiveness of internal communications messages and channels on an ongoing basis and make recommendations to review and amend as appropriate
• Translate technical messages into easy-to-understand language to ensure effective communications across the department

Engagement

• Plan and implement departmental engagement, events and activities for GBA cities including leadership visits, townhalls, large-scale events, team gatherings etc…

External Communications

• Support external communications opportunities across the GBA to showcase the department’s achievements and to position Cathay as a digital leader.
• Provide support on employer branding in the GBA for the department

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Journalism, Communication, Public Relations or related discipline
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in a communications or public relations role
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua & Cantonese)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and good judgment; able to build rapport with people at all levels of seniority
• Strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Media savvy and strong media connections in the tech sections in Chinese Mainland is a plus
• Must be able to travel to Chinese Mainland
