Our client is a leading investment bank. This role involves working within a team based in Hong Kong, focusing on Industry Research (Technology) for the APAC region, which includes territories like Australia, New Zealand, Greater China, Southeast Asia, India, Japan, Korea, and others. The team aims to:
- Contribute to the development of corporate client bases by identifying commercial prospects in key sectors.
- Identify new priority sectors for client franchise development.
- Analyze sectors of interest for risk management or business development in APAC.
- Produce reviews and screenings on companies for business and risk assessments.
- Provide independent industrial opinions.
- The consultant will specifically cover the High-Tech / Information Technology sector in the APAC region and collaborate with the global team on sector studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide industry research reports and sector studies to identify business opportunities and assess risks.
- Monitor prospects that could become industry leaders in the APAC region.
- Participate in client meetings and conduct industry visits.
- Anticipate changes in technology, industry, regulation, and markets.
- Enhance knowledge of sectors and corporates under coverage.
- Manage data providers and contribute to global industrial analysis activities.
- Develop interactions with stakeholders and maintain compliance with internal processes.
- Communicate opinions at credit and screening committees and provide sector study debriefs to internal teams.
- Enhance external networking and keep industrial knowledge up-to-date.
Professional Qualification / Candidate Profile
- Advanced degree in university or engineering, preferably with a finance degree (e.g., MBA).
- At least 10 years of experience in the High-Tech / Information Technology industry or senior finance/risk roles.
- Experience in industrial and financial analysis with a strong understanding of financial reports.
- Strong analytical skills, independent judgment, and proactive mindset.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of big data, AI, and low-carbon transition technology is advantageous.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Chinese Mandarin and/or French is an advantage.
