Position Summary

In collaboration with the manager and shared service team, the Human Resources Advisor will manage employee life cycle activities to create a great employee experience across Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul. The incumbent will work in close partnership with the wider HR team to implement the HR strategies and initiatives for the offices in support of firm-wide goals and business plans.


Duties and Accountabilities1

  • Undertake a wide range of HR generalist activities including leave and benefits administration and work closely with Finance/Payroll team on monthly payroll process.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding process.
  • Maintain the policies website and organize induction materials.
  • Manage probation process and escalate issues if necessary.
  • Oversee work experience placements and ad-hoc interns.
  • Create and maintain accurate employee records in HR systems and the e-filing system to ensure data integrity.
  • Manage Law Society matters including notifications, PC renewals, RFL, OLQE, registration and admission, etc.
  • Regularly update reports on headcount and staff movement.
  • Be the subject matter expert on the firm policies and procedures and ensure compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and optimize employee experience.
  • Support annual performance evaluation and compensation review process.
  • Assist with moderation meetings, including collation of relevant reference materials, utilizing support from Manila as required.
  • Work closely with the Global Mobility team, assisting with joiner visa applications, law society applications and associated documents.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and collaborate with them to develop solutions to issues that arise.
  • Assist in other relevant HR tasks or HR projects as required.
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practice in HR, proactively sharing with the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree holder, ideally in Human Resource Management or Business Administration.
  • At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in an international law firm or professional services firm.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel applications.
  • Experience in using Workday would be a plus.
  • Strong organization skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels with a strong client focus.
  • A team player who is committed, proactive and resourceful.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Location & Reporting

  • This is a role based in Hong Kong reporting to our Senior Human Resources Manager in Hong Kong.
