• We are seeking SEA FREIGHT OPERATION MANAGER - with details as follows :

THE JOB :

• Report to General Manager of Hong Kong offiec
• Lead and manage an Ocean Operation team of 8 members
• Oversee daily ocean freight operations, including shipment planning, tracking, and documentation.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods via sea transport.
• Monitor and optimize shipping schedules, routes, and delivery times.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, freight carriers, and other service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and freight rates to achieve cost efficiency.
• Ensure all operations comply with international shipping regulations and company policies.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Act as a point of contact for escalated customer issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
• Collaborate with the sales team to address client needs and implement new services.
• Prepare and analyze operational reports to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop strategies to enhance service levels and reduce costs.
• Tertiary education preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
• 10+ years experience in ocean freight operations in forwarders
• 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and procedures.
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
• Good connections with vendors, shipping lines, freight carriers, and other service providers
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Japanese is a significant advantage.
• Familiarity with the Japanese work culture and business practices is a plus.
