JOB SUMMARY

  • Drive the implementation of the Bank’s risk governance framework, process, control register, policies and guideline to respective business partners and facilitate the business teams to understand and comply with.
  • Assist Management in implementing robust control processes to meet all regulatory requirement and internal policy.
  • Proactively manage risk with a forward looking approach and monitor risk evet (internal or external), escalate the significant events to Line Manager and / or relevant risk owner as appropriate.
  • Being instrumental and provide guidance and advice for business initiatives.
  • Proactively manage residual risk assessments with an aim to minimize residual risk or ensure risk is properly accepted with treatment plan.
  • Manage audits and reviews (internal and external, with WRB as auditee) and the relevant engagements amongst stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Business

  • Assist the team to implement the control process as to meeting internal policy & procedures and external regulatory requirement for respective business teams. 

Processes

  • Responsible to follow prevailing operational frameworks, e.g. EORF, PU etc…  

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. 
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Comply with the HKMA guidelines wherever is / are applicable to the respective business 
     

Key Stakeholders

  • 1st LoD : WRB Business / Fraud Risk Management / CI
  • 2nd LoD : Compliance / Legal / CFCC / OR / ICS
  • 3rd LoD : GIA

Qualification

  • Degree holder, preferably solid experience in Retail Banking, Risk Management, Fraud Risk Management and internal/external Audit
  • Solid knowledge of Operational Risk Management, Control & Governance, Risk & Control Self-Assessment, Incident Management and Key Risk Indicators
  • Proficiencies and knowledge in regulatory requirement including Code of Banking Practice, Deposit Protection Scheme, Risk Management of E-Banking..etc
  • Strong analytical skills, risk sense and common sense
  • Sound knowledge in Digital / Technology function is an advantage
  • Self-motivated with good judgement and able to work well under pressure
  • Good stakeholder management by establishing good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and to work well in a team
  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and command of written English and Chinese

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Language : English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Microsoft Office ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Knowledge in Banking Industry with AML / CDD experience
  • With experience working with a variety of risk and compliance related areas
  • Good data analytical skills is preferred. Design and maintain reports for control, tracking for analysis
  • Experience in coordinate and review various compliance / procedural guideline to identify potential areas of concerns / gaps
  • With agile mindset, flexible in task assignments and various projects including but not limited to streamlining processes / flow for better efficiency
