Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (hereinafter referred to as “the Company”) is a private organization jointly owned by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and The Hong Kong Association of Banks. The Company’s key objective is to develop and operate a safe and efficient multi-currency and multi-dimensional financial infrastructure in Hong Kong for:

  • large-value interbank fund transfers denominated in HKD, USD, Euro and RMB; 
  • interbank money settlement of equity and debt securities transactions in Hong Kong via the linkages with the Hong Kong Securities Clearing Company Limited and the HKMA’s Central Moneymarkets Unit (CMU) system; 
  • small-value interbank fund transfers denominated in HKD and RMB via the HKD and RMB Faster Payment System; and 
  • interbank clearing and/or money settlement of retail payments, such as paper cheques, autocredits, credit card payments, etc. in Hong Kong.

The Company is also the operator of the HKMA’s CMU system.

Apart from interbank clearing-and-settlement services, the Company and its subsidiaries also support the HKMA and the financial industry to foster the development of the financial technology (“FinTech”) ecosystem in Hong Kong. 

We are looking for a suitable candidate to take up the following job position. 

Specialist I (Systems Infrastructure) - Office Automation Infrastructure

Major Responsibilities

  • Perform server and storage infrastructure installation, deployment, maintenance, support and troubleshooting
  • Provide technical support and planning on website, user application system, system software and hardware
  • Provide planning, design, evaluation and implementation of multi-platform on virtualization platform
  • Responsible to liaise with internal users and external vendors to collect user requirements and propose suitable solutions with maximum cost effectiveness
  • Maintain good performance on server and storage infrastructure
  • Perform trouble shooting and problem resolution on PC/LAN, Windows and Linux platform 
  • Prepare system documentation and reporting
  • Investigate developments in the PC/LAN, Windows and Linux system and open platform storage areas and make appropriate proposals for improvement in the quality and the cost effectiveness of services delivered to users
  • Provide technical advice and support to application development team
  • On call for emergency production incidents and provide onsite fire-fighting support and perform shift duties as required; perform other duties as assigned by superiors

Requirements

  • University degree/college in electrical/electronic or computer engineering/computer science or related discipline
  • Over 5 years’ relevant working experience in server and PC/LAN administration and support, preferably in large-scale Windows and Linux platforms
  • Hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows Suites, Red Hat Linux, NetApp and Huawei storage, virtualization and TCP/IP in LAN/WAN environment
  • Good command in spoken and written English and Chinese
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills and able to work under pressure
  • Candidates with more experience may be considered for a more senior position
