Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, client-oriented Gallery Sales Assistant based in Hong Kong to support our gallery's sales initiatives and daily operations. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in assisting the sales team and supporting gallery exhibitions. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, enthusiasm for art, and a proactive approach to providing an exceptional visitor experience, ultimately contributing to achieving our gallery’s sales goals.

 

Key Responsibilities

Sales Assistance

Sales and Client Support:

  • Assist the sales team in preparing proposals, presentations, and sales materials.
  • Maintain and regularly update client records, CRM systems, and prepare accurate sales reports.
  • Support client follow-ups, ensuring prompt and professional responses to inquiries and after-sales communication.
  • Identify and engage potential collectors by building meaningful rapport with gallery visitors.

Visitor Experience:

  • Deliver engaging guided tours, providing insightful information about artists, exhibitions, and individual artworks.
  • Recognize and proactively engage visitors expressing interest in purchasing or collecting art.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective strategies for converting casual visitors into long-term clients and collectors.
  • Educate visitors on the gallery’s mission, represented artists, and upcoming events, fostering deeper connections and ongoing engagement.

 

Operations

General Gallery Requirements:

  • Ensure the gallery maintains a clean, welcoming, and visually appealing environment at all times.
  • Assist with exhibition setups, event preparation, and private viewings as required.
  • Collaborate closely with team members to maintain a professional, inclusive, and inviting atmosphere for all gallery visitors.
  • Monitor and document visitor interactions and feedback, providing insights to continuously enhance the overall gallery experience.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Location: Must be currently based in Hong Kong.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Fine Arts, Arts Management, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in art galleries, auction houses, luxury retail, client relations, or sales-related positions.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proficiency in CRM and sales software (preferred), and excellent organizational abilities.
  • Languages: Fluency in English and Cantonese required; Mandarin proficiency a plus.
  • Attributes: Passionate about art, proactive attitude, detail-oriented, and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
