The Undergraduate (UG) Programs Office of HKUST Business School is searching for a capable, self-motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Manager in the Student Development and Career Services Team.  Reporting to the Assistant Director, the appointee will work together with the whole team and will mainly focus on the following areas:

  • Case Competitions: Plan and coordinate the logistics and publicity for HKUST International Case Competition organized by the School; support the application logistics and budgeting for other business‐related overseas case competitions that the school is sending a team to compete in.
  • Career Services:
    • Provide career advice to UG business students. Identify trainers and implement career development activities for students to enhance their employability.
    • Management of the job portal and its revamping exercise; drawing employment data and employers’ feedback for periodical KPI reporting
    • Oversee the operations of 2 career development related credit-bearing courses and the Career Mentorship Program.
    • Carry out corporate outreach and business development efforts to solicit corporate project & placement opportunities; and, as appropriate, match students to suit employers' job requirements through nomination. Spearheaded career-related events such as Industry Fair (Banking), Company Visit, and Recruitment Talk.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build positive and professional relationships with stakeholders: students, faculty, alumni, corporate partners and distinguished business leaders. Follow up on leads and initiatives introduced by the Career Development Advisory Council.
  • Ad‐hoc Tasks: Demonstrate flexibility to lead and coordinate ad‐hoc tasks as assigned with a can-do spirit.

Applicants should have a good honors degree with at least 7 years of post-qualification work experience. He/she should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good analytical and organizational skills; systematic approach at work; excellent team-playing skills; the ability to multi-task plus working independently and flexibly; good interpersonal communication skills and capability of networking with both external clients and internal office units; and passion in higher education and youth development. Good IT knowledge with high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, website and image editing and online social network know-how are highly desirable. As some events will be held in the evening or during weekends, working outside normal office hours will be expected. Prior experience of working in tertiary institutions / youth development / career services would be an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
