Position Purpose

The Controls Integrator is tasked with making multiple elements work together as one cohesive system. A key technical role, an integrator also has essential responsibilities in project coordination, especially focused on project sites around the world. As the final step in the project process, integration is key to high-quality delivery before system handover to the client. An integrator exists on the uniquely TAIT line between technology and art, helping to create the best shows and spectacles in the world. Alongside this, the controls integrator will carry out system upgrades, modifications and inspections / maintenance when required. The controls integrator will also be required to complete basic mechanical work.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates integration of separate elements into one cohesive project.
  • Comprises part of field engineering and installation team, ultimately implementing technology on site for the customer.
  • Fulfills shop testing and setup responsibilities, especially for complex elements.
  • Communicates frequently with the rest of the project team about tasks and risks.
  • Maintains a basic understanding of all integration-related technical fields.
  • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot, repair, and commission automation system components, software, logic, and front-end systems following best practices and safety protocols.
  • Promotes and contributes to TAIT's internal standards and processes.
  • Stays well organized and pays close attention to details.
  • Work within a global team of technical support professionals delivering best in industry support services to our clients.
  • Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.
  • Develops an expert knowledge of one or more integration-related technical fields
  • Establishes and cultivates good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, ironworkers, project managers, and many other personnel
  • Promotes and contributes to internal standards and processes
  • Provides boutique customer service for TAIT's custom business
  • Plays key technical role throughout project lifecycle
  • System inspections/maintenance and testing plus basic mechanical maintenance
  • Control system commissioning
  • Project Management of certain tasks
  • Liaising directly with TAIT customers and clients, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction
  • Prepare equipment ready to be installed on site in areas such as performing arts venues, theme parks, location based experiences and cruise ships

Position Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an electrical / controls technician capacity
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and safety
  • Fluency in Cantonese
  • Proficiency in English to a working level
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to work in entertainment conditions
  • Strong written skills
  • Right to work in Hong Kong
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on average of 100 days per year
  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin (Desirable)
  • Previous experience of commissioning / testing of electrical / control system (Desirable)
  • Previous experience working with a technical theatre setting (Desirable)
