About This Role

• As the Head of Software Engineering, you will be accountable for leading the end-to-end software development lifecycle and driving innovation and maintenance of technology solutions/systems across WeLab Group. Overseeing the adoption of DevOps practices, the Head of Software Engineering will ensure our technology systems meet the evolving business and compliance needs.
  
  
  

What you’ll do and what success looks like in this role :

• Lead, manage and motivate the software engineering teams to develop and maintain digital banking solutions
• Develop and execute a digital channel strategy aligned with organizational objectives
• Brainstorm and implement innovative digital products and services
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of digital banking platforms, including mobile banking, internet banking, third-party payments, wallets, and automated applications
• Collaborate with business stakeholders across WeLab to understand requirements, manage priorities, and deliver impactful solutions that drive value for the organization
• Maintain connections with digital technology providers, industry peers, and relevant stakeholders
• Implement modern software engineering practice to drive engineering excellence and rapid innovation
• Conduct market analysis and competitor analysis to propose enhancement recommendations
• Ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices and regulatory compliance for all software and digital banking solutions
• Implement security measures to protect customer data and maintain the integrity of digital banking systems
• Stay updated on industry regulations, cybersecurity threats, and compliance requirements, and incorporate this knowledge into the development and maintenance of software solutions
  
  
  

What Is Required And What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 15+ years of experience in the banking sector.
• Willing to travel often
• Proven track record in delivering digital products and services like mobile banking, internet banking, wallets, self-service channels, and automated systems on cloud.
• Technical proficiency with cloud computing in banking.
• Solid hands-on experience in software architecture and design patterns.
• Demonstrated ability to apply digital solutions to business problems.
• Deep knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience implementing and managing security measures for digital banking platforms on cloud.
• Familiarity with financial industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Mandatory deep knowledge of financial products and services, including their development, implementation, and management
• Strong leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and team management experience.
• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English, Cantonese and Mandarin
