Job Description:

The Life & Health (L&H) Operations Teams comprise of functions across Underwriting, Policy Administration, Claims, Client Service and Case Management for supporting the life insurance business.

Our Underwriting team is responsible to provide all-rounded and professional services ranging from data capturing, risk assessment and determine underwriting alternatives to establish terms of coverage, recommending appropriate coverage on medical cases for new business, providing advisory service to distribution channels (agency/brokerage/bancassurance) as well as involving in digital projects that could further enhance the client journey and onboarding experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Be the delegated responsible person for Underwriting Service support to Broker Team
• Support Broker team’s enquiries and deliver workshops to meet their needs
• Develop underwriting guidelines, procedures and practices with an aim to create positive client experience, maintain market competitiveness and compliant with regulatory requirements
• Organize and deliver training to the team to support development and enhance competency level
• Perform risk assessment within the specified authorization limits
• Provide second approval of referred applications from Underwriters
• Ensure the assigned tasks comply with the Company’s New Business Policy & Procedures, Underwriting Guidelines and Rules and service pledges
• Make recommendations and execute process streamlining and service improvement initiatives
• Allocate work and monitor productivity and work quality to ensure consistency and accuracy of output
• Handle ad-hoc assignments, including product development and system enhancement projects
  
  

Job Requirements

• University degree with major in any business related discipline; LOMA holder
• At least 8 - 10 years' experience in underwriting with a minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience
• Proven experience in managing distribution channels' requests/ enquiries
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with good business sense
• Good client servicing mindset with proven interpersonal skills
• Good language proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua)
• Good language proficiency in spoken Cantonese is a plus
• Proficient user in MS Office applications
• One-off relocation assistance allowance and work visa support will be provided to non-local candidates who is currently residing outside HKSAR
