We are seeking a Robotic Engineer with expertise in drone system development, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM), and AI-driven perception to develop autonomous UAVs capable of navigating in GPS-denied environments such as caves, tunnels, and dense forests.

The ideal candidate will work on cutting-edge navigation, perception, and mapping algorithms to enable real-time autonomous flights in unstructured and dynamic environments. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation autonomous drones for critical applications such as underground exploration, search and rescue, and AI-driven infrastructure inspection in complex environments.

Research And Development (R&D) Duties

  • SLAM Development: Design, develop, and optimize robust real-time SLAM algorithms tailored for GPS-denied settings.
  • Sensor Fusion: Integrate multiple sensor modalities, including LiDAR, RGB-D or IMUs to achieve precise positioning and mapping.
  • Autonomous Navigation Algorithm Development: Develop and implement advanced path planning and obstacle avoidance techniques that adapt to complex, unstructured environments.
  • AI-Driven Perception System Development: Create AI-based perception systems for real-time detection, classification, and environmental adaptation under challenging conditions.
  • Embedded Systems Development: Enhance onboard computing for efficient real-time processing and system integration.
  • Field Testing: Lead field trials in actual GPS-denied environments (e.g., caves, tunnels, dense forests) and iterate design based on performance data.


Requirements

l Proficient in C++, Python, and ROS (Robot Operating System).

l Experience with SLAM frameworks (e.g., ORB-SLAM, LIO-SAM, Cartographer).

l Strong background in multi-sensor fusion and real-time data processing.

l Familiarity with drone flight controllers (PX4, Ardupilot) and simulation tools (Gazebo, AirSim).

l Hands-on experience in developing autonomous systems for challenging or GPS-denied environments is highly desirable.

l Proven ability to work in dynamic, unstructured, and low-light conditions.

l A collaborative spirit, with strong communication skills and a passion for innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

l Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field.

l Experience with edge AI and onboard real-time processing for drones.

l Background in low-light imaging and advanced sensor integration for enhanced environmental perception.

l Previous work in designing lightweight, power-efficient drone systems for extended missions.
