DBIS seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified and successful Secondary School History teacher who is willing to commit to working in a stimulating and dynamic international educational environment. This is an exciting time to join DBIS as the Secondary phase and Humanities department are expanding, offering opportunities for growth and development within the school.

To be considered, it is essential to have:

• A bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in History or a closely related field;
• A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS);
• Experience teaching History to a high quality at Secondary School level within the English National Curriculum framework.

It is desirable to have:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role;
• Experience teaching Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE, and A Level History (applications from IB History teachers will also be accepted);
• A master’s or postgraduate qualification in a related subject;
• Experience working with EAL pupils (English as an Additional Language);
• Experience or interest in being an examiner for (I)GCSE and/or A Level.

All new teachers are offered two-year renewable contracts and a competitive compensation package, with a gratuity of 18.75%, an additional monthly cash allowance, remuneration of school fees for one child and full medical and dental insurance for the employee.
