Bare Cove Technology is in a rapid-growth phase and onboarding new clients across Hong Kong, Singapore, the UK and Australia. To support our continued growth, Bare Cove is looking to add several new members to the team.

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

Bare Cove Technology is looking for an IT Support Engineer to join our growing team. The role will focus on providing high quality onsite support at client offices and remote support analysis for BCT’s core products and the technology needs of Asia’s leading hedge funds and asset managers. The candidate will also gain exposure to website and system development, cyber security testing, and scripting and automation.


Job Duties:

  • Provide remote and onsite technical support to BCT’s clients.
  • Onsite first-line investigation and diagnosis of technical issues.
  • Setup and onboarding of users.
  • Escalate urgent and complex tickets to network and systems engineering team and work with colleagues to resolve.
  • Respond to client support requests within documented SLAs.
  • Keep ticketing system up to date with internal and external updates and time entries.
  • Setup and upgrade computer hardware and software for our company and clients as required.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on the use of laptops, workstations, and associated software and training on IT functions.
  • Provide support for mobile applications, cloud applications, and on-premises hardware.
  • Support ongoing monitoring systems and reply to all monitoring alerts within documented SLAs.
  • Provide correct and complete documentation of all incidents, with an accurate description of all troubleshooting steps followed, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain and support printers, scanners, and other peripheral devices.
  • Ensure that all IT activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

 

Location: Split between our Central, Hong Kong office and onsite, at our client offices. The candidate will be reporting to the Head of Client Support.

This role may require occasional out of hours support during evenings and weekends.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Interest in IT, cloud, cyber security, and automation.
  • Open mindset, eager to learn, open to new ideas.
  • Strong understanding of general IT support including using various methods of remote support.
  • Experience working as an onsite engineer.
  • Experience with MacOS and Windows OS.
  • Experience with on premise and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365.
  • Good understanding of networking technologies.
  • Proven ability to function in a self-directed environment.
  • Must excel in a fast-paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success.
  • Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and readily embraces change.
  • Ability to always handle clients professionally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven track record of consistency and reliability in previous roles.
  • Strong sense of loyalty and commitment to long-term employment.
  • Willing to occasionally work outside standard business when required.
  • Strong English and Cantonese communication skills; Mandarin is a plus.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Experience with cloud native applications.
  • Knowledge of ITIL framework.
  • Web development or scripting/automation experience.
