Job Summary

  • The role holder is accountable for end to end support and delivery of Global Lending Services (GLS) service in Hong Kong, covering all the streams of products maintenance of various operational risk related controls. . Here list the principle and details refer to group GDOI
  • Supporting the local CCIB clients for lending products back-office process with high quality.
  • Support GLS team on CCIB business. The functions include but not limit to :
  • Lending product BAU process which define in DOI
  • BAU and ad-hoc regulatory reporting for lending products
  • System and process change support
  • Support to implement the Bank’s Operational Risk Framework (ORF) in the county, and supports the Group’s operational risk strategy, and associated operational risk procedures to ensure that operational risk is effective at operations level.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Group’s strategic direction and roadmap for lending Ops, aligned with country Business Strategy and investment appetite.
  • Support the right shoring strategy and continually review opportunities to suggest efficiency improvements for GLS.
  • Support the GLS function head to achieve the financial performance targets and prioritize investments into making client journey simpler, faster, better Challenge status quo in driving courageous conversations of doing business with Right Clients with a sustainable cost/ income ratio.
  • Attend and finish internal and external training to be skilled and qualified for the job.
  • Safe keep and register business chops, user Id password and critical vouchers, follow handover policy.
  • To work closely with GBS and other CJs team to make end to end process run smoothly.
  • Carry out the initiatives launched by the management team to improve the image of GLS.
  • To be duly support & coordinate of GLS related projects and some Bank’s common projects
  • Processing relevant transactions and performing specific duties (e.g. call back; customer enquiry; reconciliation, regulatory reporting, document check, scanning, etc.)

Governance & Risk Management

  • Proactive in seeking regular assurance that the GLS is performing to an acceptable risk and control standard as per the defined Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
  • Maintain strong lines of communication with GBS team through an effective communication process.
  • Act quickly when any risk and control weakness become apparent and escalate to function head at the first time.
  • Support function head with appropriate governance metrics; ensure operational risks are retained within the appropriate risk tolerance.
  • Embed the Group’s values and code of conduct. Support to develop a robust culture to ensure adherence with the highest standards of ethics, and compliance with relevant policies, processes and regulations.
  • Business Continuity Management:
  • Responsible for support adequate Business Continuity Management (“BCM”) plan is in place for GLS, to facilitate continuity of critical business operations in the event of significant business interruption.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • To ensure all operation related internal and external including regulator reports/returns submitted before deadline with accuracy for GLS HK.

Other Responsibilities

  • Leverage the opportunity provided by Corporate Social Responsibility to enhance the Group’s internal and external reputation and indirectly influence the bottom line.
  • Promote the Group’s brand and Here for good with employees, clients and regulators.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders.
  • Understand, acknowledge and comply with the requirements on individual accountabilities and responsibilities of the job set out in applicable local laws and regulations as well as SCB internal policies
  • Perform job duties with diligence, contribute to efforts as an individual or as a team member so as to avoid any actual or potential legal sanctions, regulatory penalties, material financial loss, or adverse reputational impact on the Bank
  • Be responsible for failure to follow relevant rules and processes, failure to properly perform the responsibilities, and implement corrections
  • Cooperate with any investigations or reviews on regulatory failure such as accountability review

Qualification

  • Education University Educated
  • Languages Written and spoken Cantonese professionally competent to talk with clients on recorded lines, English competency to liaise with GBS teams in India and China (Tianjin), mandarin capacity is a priority selection criteria

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Microsoft Office application Skill
  • Knowledge of bank lending product
