Elim Investment Management Group is an asset management firm specializing in multifamily, student housing, and built-to-rent properties across North America. Our investment strategy centers on the acquisition and development of Class A multifamily assets in markets with strong fundamentals.

We are seeking a full-time Research and Project Analyst to join our growing team in Asia. This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of our operations, collaborating closely with our capital markets team and external capital partners.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research on emerging commercial real estate markets, rental trends, and economic indicators, and transform findings into compelling presentations.
• Coordinate with offshore Operations and Acquisition teams to compile property data (existing and pipeline), update internal databases, and generate transaction and property status reports for external advisors and clients.
• Perform financial analysis, business modeling, and pre-deal/post-acquisition evaluations to assess the profitability, viability, and stability of prospective investments; develop stress tests with multiple scenarios for management review.
• Participate in calls and review updates from property managers and project builders, contributing to process design and client communications related to acquisition, development, leasing, budgeting, and timelines in line with approved business plans.
• Assist in drafting multifamily rental market feasibility studies and summaries for proposed and existing project developments.
• Provide regular property- and portfolio-level reports detailing investment performance, while maintaining and cross-checking models to monitor ongoing project performance and flag deviations from the original plan.
• Contribute to the evaluation and development of new market and investment initiatives.
• Draft investment memos and presentations.
• Conduct regular quality control checks on work produced by team members.
• Perform ad hoc responsibilities as assigned by the team.

Background and Skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin). Junior Analysts must be comfortable conducting phone conversations and synthesizing information into clear written narratives.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather data, conduct analyses, and present actionable insights.
• Dynamic, strategic thinker and effective communicator with a collaborative mindset and a passion for exploring, learning, and adopting new technologies to enhance team efficiency.
• Basic understanding of project underwriting, project management, and financial modeling.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to perform tasks accurately.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize a fast-paced, varied workload effectively.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (expertise in Excel is essential).
• Willingness to travel as needed to regions including Taipei, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Singapore, Canada, and the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field with 1-3 years of relevant experience. (Recent graduates or interns with a demonstrated passion for launching a career in commercial real estate will also be considered.)
• Professional certification in Project Management or Real Estate is a plus.
