EQDerivatives is looking for a can-do, energetic, intellectually curious team player to run a suite of events for financial professionals. The role involves working on curation of event agendas and roundtables in APAC. This is an opportunity to develop knowledge and skills and move up the responsibility ladder quickly.
EQD executes a range of high-level events around the world on an annual basis. We draw together senior decision makers in quantitative, systematic and derivatives based strategies and other alternative investment areas by delivering exclusive, actionable investment strategy content as well as exclusive networking with their peers, counterparties and providers.
The hire will be responsible for assisting in tasks that are critical to the success of those events, both in planning and execution.
The role will have the following responsibilities:
- Craft dynamic and engaging content that fulfills sponsor demand whilst providing buyside attendees with cutting edge insights that are timely and relevant;
- Continue to develop EQD’s network of asset owners and buysiders in / interested in the APAC region
- Work closely with the Head of Business Development and other team members to ensure relevant asset owners and buysiders are speaking at and / or attending events;
- Assist other content team members in researching organizations and people with the aim of developing a network of prospective speakers;
- Communicate with sponsors, speakers and other stakeholders regarding the event content to ensure all relevant details are communicated and tracked;
- Stay informed on the latest market trends within the EQD universe and provide updates to other team members as needed;
- Provide on-site management and support for events across the EQD portfolio, ensuring accurate and complete execution of all event logistics, including:
- Managing speakers on site to ensure smooth and timely agenda execution
- Introducing key attendees to people of interest throughout events
- Helping set up private roundtables and meetings for key sponsors
- Coordinate with events and production team members to provide a seamless experience for speakers and attendees
- Assist with event promotion via internal and external calendars, ensuring timely and accurate data entry of related activities;
- Update event pages with relevant speaker and agenda information;
- Review, proofread, and/or edit all event-related documents;
- The ability to work comfortably and effectively both independently and as part of a team
About the Candidate
A qualified candidate will have the following experiences and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree, with three to five years relevant content or financial services experience;
- Extraordinary attention to detail, including the ability to easily find and correct inconsistencies in copy, and create and maintain accuracy across systems, documents and platforms;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Advanced networking and interpersonal skills; have the tools and desire to build and maintain close relationships with industry professionals;
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to adeptly edit and proofread documents, and spot and correct grammatical errors with ease in English;
- Strong verbal communication skills, including comfort speaking to a variety of people up to C-suite (i.e. conference attendees, colleagues, and vendors) in-person and via phone / video in English;
- Enthusiasm for learning and a desire to be challenged;
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment;
- Ability to prioritize and work under pressure;
- Proficiency with MS Suite, Google Suite for Business essential;
- An existing network of contacts on the buy-side (pensions, SWFs, asset managers, hedge funds, family offices and insurance firms) is a big plus;
- Salesforce experience a plus;
- Additional language skills a plus (especially Japanese);
- Candidate must have the right to work in Hong Kong.
Reports To: Head of Investor Content Strategy based in London, with dotted line to Head of Business Development based in Hong Kong

Location: Hong Kong (this is a hybrid role and requires at least 2 in-office days per week)
Position Type: Regular, full-time, nonexempt
Travel: Up to 2 weeks per year (approximately 5%), both international and domestic. This is required for the role.
Salary and Benefits: Salary will be HKD50,000-60,000 per month commensurate with industry standards and candidate’s prior relevant skills and experiences. EQDerivatives also provides benefits, including:
