Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

Ecommerce, Empowering Data-Driven Decisions Across An End-To-End Digital Experience

  • Performance-track the regional e-commerce business against LY, budget, forecast(s) and competitive benchmarks.
  • Immense collaboration with key partners to ensure there are robust trading plans, aligned to the integrated marketing calendar. Leverage this plan to steer growth, raise risks and drive accountability.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders (see above) with opportunities to maximise KPIs and limit barriers to conversion and revenue growth

Improve operating performance of existing websites.

  • Undertake a detailed review of existing website/e-commerce performance with existing partners, leveraging knowledge from the websites in North America, EMEA and Mainland China as well as other related functions (including but not limited to digital and brand marketing, logistics, merchandising and technology).
  • Agree on performance improvement plans with partners and put in place appropriate metrics and processes to ensure successful delivery through working with the local teams and influencing general management as well as through appropriate methodologies designed to test and prove use cases to deliver improvement in business size and profitability.
  • Raise ideas to the relevant parties to improve site KPIs, ensuring they are substantiated with data and a commercial valuation
  • Act as regional counsel or strategic thought-partner for pod-planning or strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning forums, ensuring e-commerce trading insight feeds into the discussion / outcomes.
  • Help shape the regional digital strategies inclusive of all digital channels, both owned and through partner platforms.
  • Partner with merchandising cross functional partners to develop an effective assortment strategy that meets local consumer needs and complements rest of channels in region.

Align Business Performance and Perspective with Group Best Practice

  • Develop and maintain expertise around best practice and continuous improvement in the region, whether related to Brand performance and distribution or competitive marketplace activity.
  • Keep abreast of locally relevant commercial opportunities.
  • Create and oversee the regional ecommerce P&L, identifying opportunities to grow the top-line and broaden margins as scale increases.
  • Partner with Finance and relevant stakeholders to forecast cyclical budgets and define KPIs for regional ecommerce.
  • An effective communicator, you are responsible for ensuring alignment between partners, regional and central teams and safeguarding regional interests within Digital Retail.
  • Integrate into the global digital & technology organization to ensure learnings across regions is creating better impact across all markets.

Create Omnichannel Presence

  • Establish commercial and financial plans for omnichannel in these markets and secure the implementation and delivery of benefits alongside and through the local partners in each geography (Australia, Korea and Japan), ensuring consistency with the global website and brand strategy.

Extend Online Presence

  • Working with global teams, and leveraging the Canada Goose’s preferred platform, formulate entry plans for other regional markets (Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and ensure that these are implemented in a brand accretive way to complement existing retail networks in those countries.

Experience, Education And Designations:

  • Bachelors Graduate a minimum requirement, Masters an advantage in a relevant discipline.
  • 10 years experience in development of online businesses in multiple jurisdictions in Asia Pacific
  • Background in Luxury, Apparel or Fashion industry preferred
  • Experienced in multiple operating platforms (including Shopify, Sales Force Commerce Cloud, Tmall and local Asian platforms)
  • Experience in complex partner management and/or digital product management will be critical to success

Knowledge, Skills And Attributes

  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to leverage website performance and upskill operational teams
  • Omnichannel experience
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and to manage multiple tasks with a sense of urgency and calm
  • Experience managing and navigating through change
  • Keen attention to detail and a “right first time” on time in full approach
  • Strong independent judgment and a high degree of interpersonal effectiveness to be able to deal with stakeholders across various levels both internally and externally across multiple cultures
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment keeping others informed and anticipating needs is essential
  • Strong scheduling and project management skills
  • Willing to work flexible hours to meet challenging and changing deadlines
  • Polished, professional approach and the ability to establish and maintain strong interpersonal relationships is necessary
