Roles that we offer:

1. Data Science

• Assist the Team Head / Section Head in coordinating with other business units on Data Warehouse and Core Banking system development and enhancement projects
• Work closely with Information Technology Department and perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) related to CRM and Core Banking system development matters, under guidance of other team members
• Provide support to users in understanding and utilizing organizational data in dynamic ways
• Assist in the development and customization of data tags using tools such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

2. Data Solutions

• Support Data Solutions team in implementing data driven solutions to improve operational efficiency for the bank
• Contribute to the documentation of data analysis, modeling processes, solution design and results
• Develop proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using SQL and Python
• Learn to build and evaluate predictive models using various machine learning algorithms
• Enhance skills in data visualization and dashboard creation using tools like Tableau
• Participate in team meetings and discussions, contributing ideas and insights
• Support the team with ad-hoc data analysis requests as needed
• Gain experience working in a collaborative team environment within a financial institution.

3. Data Governance

• Support the development of internal policies related to AI ethics, fairness, transparency, and accountability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and assess AI-related risks and compliance issues
• Help organize and participate in workgroups and training sessions on AI governance topics
• Contribute to preparation of AI use case assessments to stakeholders
• Stay updated on emerging trends and regulations on AI governance

4. Data - Centre of Excellence

• Support in the data and AI events hosted by CoE
• Support CoE team in promoting data and AI self-service culture for the bank
• Participate in the new data and AI technology and tools research and development work
• Participate in the data and AI project PoC and development
• Support in user training hands-on sessions

Requirements

(A) Education Background:

• Undergraduate students, or postgraduate students at one of the participating tertiary education institutions

(B) Discipline Preferred:                

• Statistics
• Data Science
• Mathematics
• Data Science
• Business & Finance

 (C) Technical Skills:

• Data visualization (such as Tableau or Power BI)
• Python coding/ R
• GCP/ big query

 (D) Language Proficiency:
Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese)

• Good communication skills
• Basic project management skills
• Proactive and willing to learn

Internship Duration:   12 months
Internship Period:   06 / 2025 – 05 / 2026
