The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.  There is now an excellent opportunity for eligible candidates to apply for the following position: 

Assistant Economist - Macroeconomic/Financial Market Analysis and Research 

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the analysis of economic, monetary and financial developments in the global and Hong Kong economy. Duties include econometric / quantitative analysis, regular analysis and monitoring of economic indicators, and construction and maintenance of economic and financial databases

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably postgraduate degree, in economics, econometrics, statistics, quantitative science or related field
• Experience in economic research, statistical analysis, and database management preferred
• Familiarity with economic and financial statistics, and the use of economic databases (e.g. CEIC and Bloomberg) an advantage
• Proficiency in MS Office and econometric software such as EViews, MATLAB and Stata. Programming skills in languages such as Python and R highly desirable 
• Good command of English and Chinese
