What’s the role? 

We are very excited to welcome a Program Manager to the team in Hong Kong.

The role will drive project success through exceptional leadership and vision in project delivery, effective and timely decision-making, project optimisation, resolving complex issues and challenges, and engagement with senior internal stakeholders, strategic partners, contractors, consultants and government officials as needed.

Your responsibilities will be:

Project Execution/Delivery

  • Manage the delivery of projects to agreed customer contracts and statements of work, following Landis+Gyr’s delivery methodology and industry best practices.
  • Execute project requirements and exercise PM best practice for the project, overseeing project activities including
    • Procurement Management – procurement supervision, contracts, contribution to selecting contractor/s, administering contract/s and contract/s closing activities;
    • Schedule Management – activity definition and sequencing, resource demand planning, duration estimating, schedule development and schedule control activities;
    • Integration Management – project plan development, project plan execution and integrated change control activities;
    • Scope Management – scope planning, scope definition and scope change control activities;
    • Cost Management – resource planning, cost estimating, budgeting and cost control activities;
    • Risk Management – risk management planning, risk identification, risk quantitative and qualitative analysis, response planning, monitoring and control activities;
    • Quality Management – quality planning, quality assurance and quality control activities; and
    • Communications Management – communications planning, information distribution, progress and performance reporting and stakeholder communications management activities.
  • Update of the WBS consistent with relevant standards for all project work.Accountable to provide advanced high-level external stakeholder management, communications and ability to influence and negotiate from an enterprise-informed position. Implement effective risk management and issue management processes
  • Acheive contracted deliverables and meeting required SLAs/KPIs
  • Provide advanced financial, risk, contract and change management
  • Meeting project budget CapEx and OpEx.
  • Provide a professional and credible company image in the marketplace in keeping with company policy.
  • Liaise and cooperate with other departments within Landis+Gyr for maximum effectiveness of the business.

Project Reporting

  • Ensure all project documentation and checklists are completed in accordance with Landis+Gyr’s project methodology
  • Prepare and present accurate progress reports to the Project Steering Committee.
  • Identify & prioritise project risks and propose options to mitigate.
  • Strictly apply L+G’s Change Request (CR) process to enable full transparency and accountability.
  • Actively support continuous improvement by analysing problems, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing process changes that would avoid similar problems.

Master Project Plan

  • Adequately documents how project will be executed, monitored and controlled;
  • Defines the managerial, technical and supporting processes and activities necessary for sound project development;
  • Includes topics as in Program Management above which are deemed necessary to effectively manage the project
  • Develop and maintain the Master Project Schedule.

Communications and Change Management Plan
 

  • Update the communications plan for all project stakeholders including stakeholder contact list, distribution structure, description of information to be disseminated, schedule listing when information will be produced and method for updating the communications plan;
  • Contribute to ensuring all stakeholders have been identified and their requirements and expectations have been documented and managed within the scope of the project.
  • Update this Plan which describes the process for making changes to project scope, requirements or cost as necessary.
  • Co-ordinating with relevant project team members and Development Contractor/s for review and approval of proposed changes to the project;
  • Ensure efficient project integration guidelines for approved changes are followed; and
  • Review the existing change management logs and determine which items will be taken forward for further analysis.

Risk Management Plan and Risk Register and Quality Assurance

  • Contribute to ensuring the Risk Management Plan identifies and prioritises potential risks to the successful completion of project phases and throughout the project update the Risk Register of all project risks.
  • Update the QA Plan including the of the process for QA on project deliverables via the Deliverable Comments Matrix process and using the Requirements Traceability Matrix.

Master Status Report

People Management

  • Experience in building, maintaining and evolving large, multi-disciplinary, effective and efficient team or teams, delivering assigned performance metrics/outcomes
  • Delivery of projects within required metrics – scope (quality), time and budget
  • Meeting or exceeding required SLAs and KPIs for field deployment
  • Reporting accurately and on time

What we are looking for:

You will bring a minimum of 5 years’ experience leading AMI projects, telecommunication or software, at program level.  

You would ideally have a technical background and/or background in engineering, as well as having a project management methodology accreditation (i.e. PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP)

You will also have knowledge of AMI solutions and have planned and managed budgets and resources of large scale programs of work.
