Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant/Post-doctoral Fellow in AI and Mathematical Modelling, to commence as soon as possible, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

The appointee will join the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), a start-up company incorporated by The University of Hong Kong (HKU) that is led by senior faculty members of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at HKU.  The D24H sets to play pivotal role in gathering and curating massive, unique data resources and to develop new, deep, frontier analytics in protecting global public health and improving individual healthcare through precision medicine.

He/she will contribute to the groundbreaking project on AI-guided pneumococcal disease treatment and vaccine allocation, employing cutting-edge AI and mathematical models to revolutionize healthcare outcomes. He/she will have the opportunity to work with leading experts and make a significant impact in healthcare.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Doctoral Degree (for Post-doctoral Fellow), Master's or Bachelor’s degree (for Research Assistant) in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Medicine, Biology or related disciplines;
  • Proficiency in programming (Python, R, MATLAB, C++/C);
  • Strong foundation/interest in genetics, cell biology, virology, immunology, epidemiology, or public health;
  • Proven publication record in conferences or journals;
  • Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and statistical modeling applied to clinical data; and
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.

Applicants with higher qualification may be considered for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow.
