System Engineer (Cloud,backup)
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and automated processes to maintain operating systems at optimal performance
Manage and monitor virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) to ensure high availability and performance
Manage and monitor cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, OCI) to ensure high availability and performance
Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
Maintain documentation for system operations and administration
Configure and manage system OS, virtualization platforms, and backup solutions to meet company needs
Stay current with system OS, virtualization, and backup technologies, including changes, updates, and best practices
Handle system OS and virtualization platform migrations
Provide deployment support and fixes for system OS, virtualization, and backup configurations
Troubleshoot system OS, virtualization, and backup issues, working in collaboration with other IT teams and vendor support for quick and effective resolution
Work with vendors for project delivery and support
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, with 5 years of relevant working experience
Experience in system OS administration (e.g., Windows, Linux)
Experience in managing virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience in managing public cloud environments (eg., AWS, Azure, OCI)
Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
Relevant certifications (e.g., VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator) are a plus
Experience in migration projects involving system OS and virtualization platforms
Practical experience managing and supporting virtualization and backup solutions
Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration is a plus
Experience with DevOps automation is a plus
Ability to prioritize and self-manage varied workloads against agreed deadlines
Understanding of ITIL Framework and Change processes
Good command of oral and written communication skills in English, Chinese, and Mandarin

Responsibilities

Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for Active Directory (AD) environments.
