About the Department :

Real Assets CRPM APAC, is part of the Front Office, consists of two key business lines & teams: I&EF and Aviation Finance. The department manages USD3.5 billion of Assets Under Management split between I&EF and Aviation deals that span across North Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand.

The APAC team consists of 10 strong individuals spread across HK, Australia & India

Specifically, the I&EF CPRM team specializes in the following areas:

1. Financing Structures: Predominantly, Project Finance (Asset Based) + Structured Finance (HoldCo Structures & Bridge Financing).


2. Key sectors of focus: Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind, BESS), Waste to Energy, Datacenters, Telecom, Upstream Metals & Mining, Upstream & Midstream Gas, Public Private Partnerships projects.


3. Core responsibilities: (i) For Existing Deals in the portfolio: act as the first line of defense regarding the assessment of key credit risk issues / deterioration; (ii) For New Deals: Close collaboration & engagement with internal stakeholders (originator, syndication, legal & risk departments) to motivate merits of deal to be supported/approved, including submission of a CPRM opinion; (iii) Secondary Sales: Closely linked to the Originate to Distribute (O2D) model, CPRM actively seeks to optimize & sell selected deals in the portfolio to investors & funds.


Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be an integral member of the I&EF CPRM APAC team and will monitor/manage & retain ownership of dedicated deals of your portfolio. This includes, but not limited to, a deep understanding of the deal/structure & performing internal tasks like producing annual reviews + waiver memos, ratings & LGDs reviews.
  • You are expected to command strong analytical, problem solving, credit analysis & cash flow modelling skills and supported by sound presentation & communication tools. These attributes are key fundamentals that will enable you to contribute towards presentations & discussions, such as key updates of a deal, annual reviews, material waivers & CPRM opinions, at Credit Committees.
  • You are a confident individual that will enable you to participate at regular internal & external discussions and negotiations of new and existing deals. For external discussions, it can involve at participating syndicated lenders call and/or bilateral discussions with the Client/Borrower + investors conference calls.
  • You will support O2D/Secondary Sales initiatives & participate at ad-hoc projects that are related to the Department, when appliable.


In return, you will be supported by seasoned & senior members/bankers that will ensure your evolution & development in the I&EF landscape such as being exposed to complex financing structures & the opportunity to gain exposure across all key sectors & geographical areas under I&EF APAC. If there is desire & deemed appropriate, exposure to Aviation financing deals can be considered, in the future.


Required Skills :

  • University Degree holder in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline. CFA and/or related professional accreditation is highly desirable.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 5 to 7 years plus relevant work experience & exposure to complex Project Financing + Structured Finance deals & structures in I&EF.
  • Confident, strong communication & analytical skills are a pre-requisite skill.
  • Ability to work under pressure & produce / perform under tight timelines is a necessity.
  • Excellent command in English (written & verbal) and the ability to speak & write Mandarin is plus, but not a pre-requisite.
  • A team player & strong interpersonal skill.
