Project Title: Dialogue Tutoring in Large Language Models (LLMs): Can we train LLM to be effective Primary School Math tutors?
[Appointment Period: 9 months]
The appointee will participate in a research project related to utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) to develop an intelligent tutoring system (ITS) with a focus on primary school grade 5 mathematics. He/She is expected to possess programming skills, expertise in training LLMs, and a strong interest in or experience in educational research. He/She also will be expected to carry out other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator. The appointment will be for a period of 9 months.
Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor’s Degree, and preferably a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology or related area, with relevant research experience. Familiarity with emerging technologies like generative AI tools and with neuroscience is an advantage. They should have good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently; good IT literacy, good problem-solving skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills with high proficiency in written English and Chinese, and spoken English.
