Position Overview:

We are seeking a General Manager of Laboratories to oversee all global laboratory entities within the Consumer Goods Division. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytical and mechanical testing services for a diverse range of products, including Furniture, Toys, Kitchenware, Home Textiles, and Apparel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead all global laboratory operations within the Consumer Goods Division.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations for analytical and mechanical testing.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of testing methodologies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance service offerings and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead and mentor technical staff, promoting professional development and skills enhancement.
  • Develop and manage budgets for laboratory operations, ensuring cost-effective practices.
  • Monitor and report on laboratory performance metrics and operational KPIs.
  • Foster relationships with clients to understand their needs and ensure satisfaction with testing services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in laboratory practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Science, or related disciplines). A master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Proven experience in laboratory management, preferably in the Consumer Goods sector.
  • Strong knowledge of analytical and mechanical testing methodologies.
  • Experience in chemistry is a plus.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with a focus on technical staff development.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
