Job Purpose :
The jobholder is responsible for the accurate and effective reporting of the branch’s financial position and performance, including financial accounting and reporting, regulatory reporting and management accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the day to day production, control and reconciliation of the general ledger system and report any irregularities to ITD and related functional units for rectification;
- Control the processing of month-end closing of ledger system;
- Oversee the production of expenses payment processing and perform expense control according to relevant Bank’s policies or procedure manuals;
- Drive, coordinate and manage all preparation and submission of regulatory reporting (including banking returns, and ad hoc reports) to regulators (including HKMA, CBIRC);
- Establish and implement operating procedures to ensure proper internal controls in regulatory compliance related areas;
- Review, streamline and enhance all accounting procedures to ensure effective operation in the department;
- Prepare necessary MIS for financial management purposes;
- Propose technical advice on matters of financial reporting and regulatory compliance for new products or for investment decision making;
- Oversee the reporting infrastructure for reports requested by the parent bank and ensure accurate and timely submission of relevant reports;
- Oversee all tax affairs, including the production of tax computation and filing;
- Liaise with auditors for external audit on financials and related internal control system.
Requirements:
- Degree holder in Accounting or related disciplines or a qualified accountant;
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in management and/or financial accounting in banking industry, with at least 4 years in managerial level;
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, the bank’s accounting policies & procedures and market practice;
- Strong knowledge in governmental rules & regulations and banking products;
- Good analytical, communication and management skills;
- Good Command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
