Purpose of the Job
The incumbent plays a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of a forward-thinking and steadily growing organization. This newly structured department is at the heart of the company’s digitalization efforts, and instrumental in shaping its future. Combining strategic vision with operational excellence, the incumbent acts as a trusted sparring partner to the Chief Digitization Officer (CDO), ensuring the successful transformation of IT and business processes. In this leadership role, will oversee the development of cutting-edge data architectures, implement AI-driven solutions, and foster a culture of innovation and agility. Work will directly impact the company’s ability to leverage data and technology for competitive advantage, making this a high-impact and high-visibility position.
Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the company’s existing data inventories and data sources, identifying opportunities for optimization and integration.
Lead the development of a modern, scalable data architecture that seamlessly integrates data from production, sales, and other critical business areas.
Collaborate with cross-functional Scrum teams to design and implement a data lakehouse, ensuring accessibility, security, and scalability.
Implement AI-based evaluation methods and machine learning models to derive actionable insights from the data lakehouse.
Leverage these insights to optimize production processes, enhance sales strategies, and improve overall business performance.
Continuously refine AI models to ensure they remain aligned with evolving business needs and technological advancements.
Take full leadership responsibility for the department, including team development, performance management, hiring, termination, and other people-related decisions.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring their professional growth and alignment with organizational objectives.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
Act as a strategic sparring partner to the CDO, providing insights and recommendations to shape the digital transformation roadmap.
Define and establish new working methods, tools, and frameworks for data analysis and digital transformation across the global IT organization.
Support the selection and implementation of cutting-edge technologies that enhance the company’s digital capabilities.
Actively support the CDO in implementing a new way of working that embraces digital transformation and data-driven decision-making.
Champion change management initiatives to ensure a smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and methodologies.
Promote a data-driven culture by encouraging collaboration, transparency, and innovation across all levels of the organization.
Requirements
University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
A doctorate in a scientific-technical field is an advantage.
Solid background as a software developer with hands-on experience in designing, developing, and deploying software solutions.
Strong experience with agile software development methodologies, particularly Scrum.
Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale digital transformation projects.
At least 10 years of professional experience as a team leader or department head in software development or IT.
Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Comprehensive understanding of emerging digital technologies, data analytics and intelligent automation that drive modern businesses as well as technology integration.
Able to effectively lead and develop result-oriented teams, give timely and actionable feedback to direct reports and mentor, coach and motivate individuals.
Superior communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively work with colleagues at all levels in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
Excellent counselling and negotiation skills and the ability to influence business partners and peers in critical situations to obtain consensus.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team in a proactive, self-motivated and responsible manner.
Able to work effectively under time pressure and deadline-driven within a fast-paced, dynamic and customer-oriented environment.
Highly competent in project management and priority setting in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural setting.
Excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin.
