Our client is a Government Museum. They are looking for Museum Programme Officer to support the team.

Job Details

  • To update website information regarding exhibitions, programmes and services.
  • To perform basic photo and graphic editing.
  • To convert files and upload audio visual programmes in out website, YouTube channel and e-Go platform.
  • To design and issue museum e-news.
  • To develop and maintain thematic webpages, Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
  • To prepare invitations/make calls to community centers and other non-profit-making organizations to promote the latest museum programmes.
  • To handle public enquires related to museum services and programmes.
  • To plan, organize and monitor education activities for the general public, such as weekend lectures (including on-site and online), workshops, fieldtrips, demonstrations, performances and outreach programmes.
  • To liaise with programme tutors, supervise the operation of programmes and prepare / compile evaluation on the programme.
  • To perform any other duties (including outdoor) as assigned by the supervisors.
  • To receive and process applications for museum programmes and services.
  • To update attendance record and questionnaires, prepare related reports and handle word processing documents.
  • To liaise with the museum’s management unit for the daily operation of the education programmes, including event set-up, crowd control and ensure that the rules and regulations are observed by the visitors and users.
  • To coordinate with frontline staff to ensure the smooth running of various activities / programmes/ performances held in museum.
  • To assist in maintaining the equipment, installations and fixtures of the Education Activities Sub-unit in a satisfactory condition.
  • To initiate and coordinate building maintenance and improvement works with the Management Unit and contractors for the Education Activities Sub-unit.
  • To safe-keep the audio guide equipment and arrange maintenance of respective hardware.
  • Checking the stock of souvenirs, educational materials and inventory items.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent or above (major in subjects of arts/history stream are preferable).
  • Having a pass in the English Language (Syllabus B) and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination or Level 2 in English Language and Chinese Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination or equivalent.
  • At least two-year full-time working experience in customer service related areas, organizing education activities and on website management in museums or other educational/cultural institutions is preferable.
  • Proficiency with PDF Pro software, FTP software, Lotus Notes and Web Content Management System such as Liferay, TeamSite, etc. Good at using MS Office and graphic / photo editing software. Capability to edit HTML source code directly is preferable.
  • Experience in planning and organizing public programmes including cultural events, art workshops, performance and live streaming programmes, etc. is required.
  • Possessing good communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail, showing strong initiative; being courteous; being able to work within a team and work independently.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken Chinese and English.
  • Good at computer applications, including Chinese character input and using MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
