The Undergraduate (UG) Programs Office of HKUST Business School is searching for a capable, self-motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Assistant Manager in the Student Development and Career Services Team.  Reporting to the Assistant Director, the appointee will work together with the whole team and will mainly focus on the following areas:

Student Enrichment Activities: Work together with students and the team to plan and lead the Business Cohort Community in organizing enrichment activities; identify potential NGO partners for collaboration in student enrichment opportunities; implement existing/new enrichment activities for students; work with internal units to provide support for student enrichment activities and administrate some of the scholarships / funding supports.

  • Case Competitions: Plan and coordinate the logistics for HKUST International Case Competition organized by the School; support all related application logistics for other business‐related case competitions that the school is sending a team to compete.
  • Coordinate credit-bearing courses: Managing a number of SBMT credit-bearing courses on experiential learning.
  • Marketing / Managing Social Media platforms: Engage and inform students about our team’s services and resources available to the students through marketing and social media platforms.
  • Career Services: Provide career advice to UG business students; identify trainers and implement career development activities for students; work with internal units to provide career support for student. Management of the job board; and as appropriate, match students to suit employers' job requirements.
  • Ad‐hoc Tasks: Demonstrate flexibility to lead and coordinate ad‐hoc tasks as assigned.

Applicants should have a good honors degree with at least 3 years of post-qualification work experience. (For those with less experience will be considered as Officer). He/she should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); good analytical and organizational skills; systematic approach at work; excellent team-playing skill; the ability of multi-tasking plus working independently and flexibly; good inter-personal communication skills and capability of networking with both external clients and internal office units; and passion in higher education and youth development. Good IT knowledge with high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, website and image editing and online social network know-how are highly desirable. As some events will be held in the evening or during weekends, working outside normal office hours will be expected. Prior experience of working in tertiary institutions / youth and career development / campus recruitment is an advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided where applicable.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
