We are seeking a talented individual to join our MMB team at Mercer. This role will be based in Hong Kong. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:

The individual will work in conjunction with the Hong Kong Broking and Consulting teams to secure new business revenue from new clients. This role will involve sourcing new prospects, developing ongoing relationships and securing new business across health and benefits including Healthcare, Wellness, Life assurance broking and consulting appointments. MMB has its own employee benefits technology proposition, so in addition, it is a requirement to be able to consult upon and sell our digital solutions.

  • Reporting into the Sales Leader & Health Leader, work with the sales / business development team to develop and execute strategies for new business penetration, with the purpose of gaining broking market share in Hong Kong
  • Evaluating existing sales practices and processes to enhance delivery and produce results
  • Arranging new business meetings, creating and leading sales pitches
  • Leading and closing complex sales, tenders and RFP/RFQ projects
  • Researching market trends and industry updates, for the purpose of building market credibility and knowledge
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure trust and long-term relationships conducive to new business activity
  • Cultivating positive interactions and relationship with team members, leaders and managers, and across other Mercer business lines to evaluate sales strategy, results and execution
  • Coaching junior team members towards sales activity and reaching sales targets.

What you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree ideally in Business Administration, Management, or Finance (but not strictly required to be in these fields)
  • At least 4-5 years of relevant sales or business development experience ideally within the insurance industry
  • Strong communication skills when liaising with different category of potential clients/internal stakeholders
  • Good numerical accuracy
  • Value teamwork, strong collaboration, individual performance, and personal success
  • Proven ability to drive results while working under tight deadlines.
