Description

OSL Group is looking for a Compliance Officer in Hong Kong / Singapore. This role focuses on providing compliance (regulatory compliance, AML and surveillance) support to firmwide initiatives and projects, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate would be a proactive individual with strong technical compliance skills and with previous experience in regulated financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance Program Development and Management: Implement and manage an effective compliance program for the Group that satisfies all relevant local regulatory requirements.
• Advisory Role: Advise senior management on compliance with applicable regulatory regimes, ensuring alignment across the organization, as well as provide support for Group initiatives and projects (Hong Kong and global) on the compliance side, ensuring robust compliance practices.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key internal and external stakeholders to facilitate continuous process development, improvement and automation projects.
• AML Monitoring: Develop and oversee ongoing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, including the detection and reporting of suspicious transactions and activities.
• Governance Development: Work closely with control functions to enhance compliance governance, including the development of new policies and procedures.
• Process Supervision and Review: Assist in designing and conducting onboarding reviews, periodic reviews, transaction monitoring, market surveillance, and Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessments (EWRA).
• Regulatory Communications: Address any communications and queries and from regulatory authorities promptly and effectively.
• Compliance Controls Implementation: Implement appropriate compliance controls and tools, collaborating with technology support to address identified gaps.
• Risk Mitigation Processes: Collaborate with Technology Risk Management, Cybersecurity, and Technology Support teams to build processes that mitigate potential risks.
• Policy Implementation: Support the Group’s Compliance efforts and work with other internal stakeholders to implement compliance policies and procedures, providing input on requirements and risks.
• Initiative Execution: Drive and execute key compliance initiatives and projects to enhance organizational compliance posture.
  
  

Requirements

• Education: University degree with ICA and/or ACAMS certification.
• Experience and Knowledge: At least 5 years of experience in AML and Regulatory Compliance in a regulated financial institution.
• Regulatory Engagement: Some experience in engaging with regulators directly and effectively, including face-to-face meetings and handling licence applications, audits and regulatory reviews.
• Industry Familiarity: Previous experience in and solid understanding of the virtual assets industry and virtual asset businesses in Hong Kong and/or internationally.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of managing complex stakeholder relationships effectively.
• Self-Starter: Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with a hands-on approach to compliance management.
