About the role: 

 

As our Manager, Business Development in Hong Kong, you will identify prospective members capable of achieving the CPA designation with the overall goal of sustainable membership. Leading the Business Development team, you will Implement new member development action plans, acquisition activities, and new initiatives, as well as find and channel customers of CPA Australia from the lead stage through to purchase and commence their journey to becoming a CPA within the first year of membership. 

The main areas of responsibility for this position are managing a portfolio of identified accounts, further developing relationships with senior decision-makers and senior stakeholders to obtain access to prospective members through a business-to-business (B2B) approach.

  

Your day to day duties:

 

  • Lead and manage the Business Development team to execute growth strategies across B2B and B2C channels
  • Be accountable for achieving the BD KPI of driving new member growth in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan   
  • Proactively build and manage a pipeline to drive member acquisition
  • Develop and implement account plans for high value organisations as well as Identify key decision makers, members, and leads, understand their needs, and build valuable, sustainable relationships
  • Develop and implement tiered contact plans for all targeted organisations according to value and priority
  • Investigate and assess new organisation prospects
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in targeted accounts to enhance brand presence and member growth opportunities.
  • Actively engage key internal stakeholders including Marketing team, Member Services and Events team, PR & Media team, Legal team, and Policy & Advocacy team in the planning and implementing business development strategies/ acquisition activities

 

About you:

 

  • 7 + years in business development and account management with a track record of building and growing customer/member base, ideally with customer service experience
  • Experience in a member based organisation, association and/or Accounting or Finance background
  • Prior experience in accounting, finance, or professional associations is highly beneficial, particularly within accounting/finance membership organisations.

  • A strategic thinker with a proactive, independent yet collaborative approach, strong problem-solving skills, and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to make data-driven strategic recommendations and contribute innovative ideas to drive new business opportunities and membership growth.
  • Strong people leader who enjoys coaching and mentoring your team
  • Fluent in Cantonese and English a must, with Mandarin also being preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Marketing, Finance, Accounting or a related field,  post graduate studies are an advantage
