YMCA of Hong Kong is seeking an experienced and passionate Youth Director to lead our impactful programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering and supporting the holistic YMCA personal growth in spirit, mind and body of young people in our community. As the Youth Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive strategy that embodies Christian principles to engage youth, foster their holistic development, and inspire them to reach their full potential. This position will report directly to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee the delivery of diverse youth programmes and activities that promote character building, leadership skills, physical wellness, and community involvement.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local schools, youth organizations, and community partners to expand the reach and impact of YMCA youth programmes.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of passionate youth program leaders and volunteers to ensure high-quality programme delivery.
  • Develop and manage programme budgets, monitor performance metrics, and evaluate programme effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the YMCA leadership team to align youth initiatives with the Association’s overall strategic vision and objectives.
  • Advocate for youth needs and interests, serving as a voice for the young people in the community.
  • Ensure all youth programmes and activities adhere to relevant safety, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Develop and implement marketing and outreach strategies to attract and retain youth participants.

Requirements:

  • Passion for the YMCA's Christian mission and a deep commitment to empowering and supporting young people.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as youth development, social work, counselling, or education, with a minimum of 10 years of managerial experience in youth programming.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and managing impactful youth programmes that foster personal growth, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with youth, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese is highly desirable.
  • Valid first aid and CPR certification, or the ability to obtain these certifications.
