Company and Mission Our client, a large conglomerate's Hong Kong subsidiary, is looking for a Finance Director to lead and manage the financial operations of their Hong Kong office. This role ensures that the financial strategies align with the group's overall goals. The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of Chinese culture and be familiar with financial regulations and business practices in both Mainland China and Hong Kong. Strong leadership and strategic thinking are essential for this role.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute financial strategies to support the group’s long-term business objectives.
Provide strategic financial advice to senior management to support decision-making.
Financial Management & Reporting:
Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with Mainland China and Hong Kong financial reporting standards.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow to ensure financial stability.
Compliance & Risk Management:
Ensure financial operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Identify and manage financial risks, developing mitigation strategies as needed.
Team Leadership & Development:
Lead and develop the finance team, enhancing their professional capabilities and efficiency.
Establish and maintain effective financial processes and internal control systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with group headquarters and other departments to align financial strategies with business goals.
Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
Cultural & Regulatory Understanding:
Demonstrate a deep understanding of Chinese culture and business practices to ensure financial strategies align with local market needs.
Stay updated on tax, accounting, and compliance requirements in both Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Qualifications:
Education & Professional Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
CPA, ACCA, or other relevant professional certifications are highly preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role (e.g., Finance Director or equivalent).
Experience in conglomerates or multinational corporations is a plus.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax policies, and accounting standards in Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Excellent financial analysis, budgeting, and risk management skills.
Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems and etc.
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Personal Attributes:
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
High level of integrity, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure.
