Main duties

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for ODM products that align with the company's business objectives and market demands.
  • Evaluate and select ODM suppliers based on their design capabilities, manufacturing capabilities, cost structures, overall quality track record, financial stability, and ethical practices.
  • Identify and assess (including staying up to date on potential) new ODM suppliers, particularly those offering innovative products or unique design capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with ODM suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective production and timely delivery.
  • Analyze product offering from supplier(s), negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and product specifications with ODM suppliers to secure favorable conditions for the business, hereunder minimum including pricing, payment terms, production timelines, quality standards, intellectual property protection, and confidentiality
  • Monitor and assess supplier performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as quality, cost, lead times, and flexibility.
  • Collaborate closely with ODM suppliers to guide the product design and development process, ensuring the final product meets both functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Provide input and feedback during the design phase to ensure the product is manufacturable at scale, aligns with the company’s brand, and meets customer expectations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product development, engineering, marketing) to communicate design requirements and ensure alignment with overall product strategy.
  • Manage the cost analysis and pricing strategies for ODM-sourced products, ensuring products are competitively priced while maintaining a focus on quality and profitability.
  • Lead negotiations with ODM suppliers to achieve cost reductions, better payment terms, and favorable delivery conditions.
  • Analyze cost structures and recommend cost-saving opportunities within the product design, development, and manufacturing processes.
  • Work with internal teams (e.g., Supply Chain, Logistics) to ensure the timely delivery of ODM products, managing lead times and inventory levels.
  • Oversee the management of shipping, customs, and logistics for ODM products, ensuring smooth transportation from supplier to distribution centers or retail locations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with ODM sourcing, such as supply chain disruptions, quality issues, or delays in production.
  • Develop and implement contingency plans to address potential issues, ensuring that production and delivery schedules remain on track.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of sourcing activities, including supplier agreements, product specifications, performance evaluations, and financial analysis.

Education required

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree or MBA is a plus). Relevant experience can compensate for lack of education.

Experience required

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a strong focus on ODM products.
  • Proven track record of working with ODM suppliers and managing the full lifecycle of product sourcing from design to delivery.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.

Knowledge and skills required for this position

  • Strong understanding of product design, development, and manufacturing processes, particularly within an ODM context.
  • Commercial Skills and Business understanding of the European and North American Market
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in cost analysis, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with global supply chain dynamics and international trade regulations.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
  • Proactive problem solver, able to manage multiple priorities and navigate challenges effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Highly organized, with keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality results.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-focused approach and the ability to influence decision-making at all levels.
