At Deriv, a global leader in online trading with millions of customers, we are looking for a Global Tax Manager to drive our international tax strategy and shape the future of our financial operations. With a team of 1,200+ professionals from 70+ nationalities, we operate at scale across multiple jurisdictions, requiring a tax expert who can navigate complex regulations, optimise our tax position, and support our continued expansion.

Reporting to the Group Head of Tax, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance, managing risks, and identifying opportunities that directly impact Deriv’s profitability and global growth. This is your opportunity to influence high-level financial decisions, collaborate with top-tier professionals, and drive strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your Challenges:

Optimise tax strategy for business growth:

  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies across multiple jurisdictions while ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and devise risk mitigation strategies alongside Deriv’s global operations and continuous expansion
  • Stay up to date with international tax developments, including income tax, capital gains tax, withholding taxes, VAT/GST, and transfer pricing, and provide strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders
  • Assess the tax implications of emerging digital business models and leverage advancements in tax technology and data management

Drive compliance excellence and build audit defence capability:

  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns, including income tax, indirect taxes, withholding tax, and transfer pricing documentation
  • Review financial statements, tax provisions, and disclosures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax reporting requirements
  • Perform tax-related financial analysis, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax positions, and tax-related contingencies
  • Formulate and implement strategies towards the resolution of tax disputes, audits, and litigation in order to safeguard Deriv’s interests

Champion a high-performing culture and lead tax process transformation:

  • Build, mentor, and empower a best-in-class tax team across multiple jurisdictions, fostering excellence in execution and strategic thinking
  • Champion cross-functional collaboration between tax, finance, and legal teams to drive business alignment and maximise efficiencies
  • Stay at the forefront of global tax trends, regulatory changes, and industry innovations, shaping thought leadership and best practices in tax strategy
  • Utilise AI and cutting-edge technology to enhance compliance processes, automate reporting, and accelerate tax research

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, with a CPA qualification
  • 10+ years of corporate tax and tax advisory experience, including at least 4 years in a managerial role, gained from consulting firm and MNC
  • Strong international tax knowledge and experience in corporate tax, indirect tax, withholding tax and transfer pricing issues of cross-border transactions
  • Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations across multiple geographies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex tax rules and apply to specific business situations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and time management skills
  • High agility to work under tight deadlines with global teams
  • Detail-oriented, hands-on and resourceful
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication
  • Experience in finance automation and AI technologies is a plus
