Fine Art Reproduction Photographer - Hong Kong

Wellcom Worldwide is seeking a talented full-time Photographer who specialises in capturing fine art reproductions to join our team in Hong Kong. This role demands an excellent eye for colour, a high degree of technical proficiency and attention to detail to create faithful representations of high value artworks.This role is based onsite at our clients' new studios on Hong Kong island.

The ideal candidate is a passionate and skilled photographer with proven experience photographing artworks with a high degree of accuracy. You will be responsible for producing high-quality images that showcase the original artworks in the best possible way. Ideally you would have the ability to photograph 3D objects using traditional methods too. Your work will be instrumental in creating compelling visual content for our clients marketing and e-commerce platforms.

Responsibilities

• To produce museum-quality reproductions that faithfully represent the original artwork, capturing its color, texture, and fine details.
• Set up, manage and maintain camera systems,lighting, backdrops, and other equipment to create the perfect environment for each shoot
• Manage and organize digital assets, ensuring proper file management and backup procedures
• Stay updated on the latest photography software developments and other technologies in the photography sector
• Manage your own studio and its immediate environment so it’s a tidy and functional workspace.
• Great and ongoing communication with the wider Wellcom team and our client
• Mentoring and training of freelance photographers

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in fine art reproductions
• Exceptional lighting skill and advanced knowledge of cross polarisation and similar lighting techniques for accurate reproduction.
• Proficiency in using professional-grade medium format and DSLR cameras and related equipment
• Expert knowledge of shoot production software particularly Capture One or Capture One (Cultural heritage) and a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• An excellent understanding of colour theory and RGB and CMYK processes for web and print.
• Experience using digital asset management software
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• An ability to work with deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity without compromising quality
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering flawless results
• A strong portfolio demonstrating a range of high end reproductions
• Fluent in Cantonese and English, conversational Mandarin
• An ability to turn your hand to traditional photography of 3D objects would be desirable.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with wider teams and our client using Google suite and Office 365
• Fluency in Cantonese and English, conversational Mandarin
• Flexibility to work extra hours and weekends during peak periods.

This role will require regular travel between all the client studio sites.
