The Opportunity:
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and creative Marketing Manager to spearhead a young brand within the Consumer Sporting Event space in Asia. The successful candidate will lead in strategizing, planning, organizing and executing innovative marketing campaigns across Asia Pacific to engage paying attendees, high end premium brands as sponsors and corporates who are looking for entertainment opportunities.
The Event
The Longines Hong Kong International Horse Show had a successful launch event in February 2025 and organisers are now looking to build on this success. The show includes first class international sporting competition, equestrian displays and a lifestyle Shopping Village with many features and experiences for the visitor. The Show aims to attract over 25,000 attendees from Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area of China, boasting a diverse audience including equestrian sports enthusiasts, corporate entities, and high-net-worth individuals
The Candidate:
Reporting to both the Marketing Director and the Event Director, the successful candidate will help the marketing team to deliver targeted ticket, sponsorship and corporate entertainment sales along with exhibition stands sales for the event by undertaking a key role in the planning, organisation and execution of innovative marketing campaigns.
The Marketing Manager will report into the Marketing Director and Event Director who will provide them with leadership, support and guidance on campaign implementation, as well as personal development support to enable the candidate to grow within the company.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be an exceptional team player and possess the ability to manage their time effectively. The ideal candidate will have brilliant attention to detail, be highly creative, adaptable and be able to manage multiple tasks to a high standard. Previous experience of a seated consumer sporting event would be very helpful but all candidates should have experience of marketing for B2C events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and executing cross-channel marketing campaigns that will deliver sponsors, exhibitors, and ticketed attendees
- Managing the contracted ticketing agency
- Working to a budget
- Managing and segmenting data, identifying gaps, developing new data sources, and implementing data build
- Developing innovative, revenue-generating ideas for campaigns to drive attendance
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the event websites, updating content, ensuring SEO and UX are maximized
- Using digital channels and technologies to enhance online presence of the show
- Developing and implementing organic social media campaigns on appropriate social media platforms
- Briefing and overseeing delivery of paid social media campaigns with digital agency
- Managing the design, production, and distribution of all promotional materials
- Working with the PR agency to develop and deliver an effective PR campaign both pre and at show
- Writing and proofing copy for a range of marketing platforms and collaterals
- Continuously analysing marketing metrics to improve campaign performance including ROI on channels used
- Building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, related associations, media and partners
- Building and managing relationships with external suppliers and negotiating prices
- Promoting a culture of testing and change to continuously drive improvement
Knowledge and Experience:
- Degree holder
- Experience in implementing successful multi-channel marketing communications campaigns
- Regional consumer marketing experience for HK and the Greater Bay Area
- A proven track record of implementing successful campaigns for consumer events
- Proven use and understanding of complex databases and segmentation techniques
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Highly literate in digital marketing practices and channels such as Google Analytics, SEO, PPC, Re-targeting campaigns, paid and organic social media campaigns
- Experience using a CRM system such as Salesforce and Pardot
- Experience using a website CMS
- Experience on data visualization tools such as Power BI
- Experience of managing digital, PR and design agencies
- Experience of managing a marketing campaign for a ticketed consumer event
