Greenpeace (GP) is a non-governmental global campaigning network, which uses peaceful, creative actions to expose global environmental issues, and develop solutions for a green and peaceful future.

Greenpeace East Asia is recruiting a Responsive Campaigner base in HK, a dynamic, strategic, and agile role that plays a pivotal part in responding to emerging environmental issues and driving impactful change locally, aligned with Greenpeace’s global vision.

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and strategically-minded Responsive Campaigner to join our team. This role requires high adaptability, sharp political and social awareness, and the ability to independently lead fast-moving projects that respond to the evolving environmental landscape in Hong Kong and beyond.

The Responsive Campaigner will collaborate closely with internal departments—research, communications, fundraising, engagement, and global offices—as well as engage externally with stakeholders such as policymakers, corporates, and community partners.

Core duties will include:

  • Act as the key lead in identifying and evaluating local opportunities related to Greenpeace’s global campaign priorities, translating them into locally resonant strategies and actions.
  • Design and deliver agile, impactful campaigns in a fast-paced environment, often leading cross-functional project teams to execute under tight timelines.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal colleagues and global counterparts to ensure alignment and resource coordination.
  • Build and manage partnerships with civil society organizations, academic experts, community groups, government departments, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Represent Greenpeace as a credible spokesperson in media interviews, stakeholder engagements, and public events.
  • Stay abreast of socio-political developments, public sentiment, and policy shifts to provide timely analysis and judgment calls on campaign opportunities.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in advocacy, campaigning, public affairs, or a related field. Talented fresh graduates with strong potential will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese/Cantonese.
  • Fluency in written Chinese is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound campaign judgments.
  • A self-starter who is confident in working independently and under pressure, with strong problem-solving capabilities and a collaborative mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with agility and resilience in a high-stakes, fast-changing environment.
  • Strong commitment to Greenpeace’s mission and values, including non-violence, independence, and creative confrontation.

Fringe benefits:

  • 15 days of Annual Leave (increase of one day of annual leave each year starting from the third year of employment, with a maximum limit of 20 days)
  • Medical & life insurance
