Job Description: Shipping Officer
The Shipping Officer is responsible for managing financial records and overseeing the shipping and receiving processes within the organization. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can ensure the timely and accurate shipment of products while effectively handling accounting tasks if appropriate.
Key Responsibilities:
Duties:
Oversee the shipment and receipt of products, materials, and supplies.
Collaborate with logistics and customer service teams to coordinate shipping schedules.
Track and trace shipments, updating the status of incoming and outgoing products.
Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels.
Ensure that all shipping documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Support accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
Support to reconcile bank statements and manage general ledger postings.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in shipping roles. Accounting experience is a plus
Familiarity with shipping management systems.
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Other Requirements:
Attention to detail and accuracy in shipping documentation and financial reporting.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
