About the Role

We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Executive Director to lead MakerBay Foundation in its mission to achieve positive social and environmental impact through maker education and innovation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social innovation, strong leadership abilities, and experience in nonprofit management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership and Vision

    • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with MakerBay's mission

    • Drive organizational growth and impact

    • Foster innovation in maker education and social entrepreneurship

  • Organizational Management

    • Oversee daily operations and program development

    • Lead and develop a high-performing team

    • Ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness

  • Financial Management

    • Oversee budget planning and financial sustainability

    • Secure funding through grants and partnerships

    • Manage relationships with donors and stakeholders

  • Community Engagement

    • Build strategic partnerships with educational institutions, NGOs, and corporations

    • Represent MakerBay in public forums and media

    • Expand MakerBay's influence in the maker education space

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience in nonprofit or social enterprise sectors

  • Proven track record in organizational growth and program development

  • Strong understanding of maker education, social innovation or community development

  • Experience in fundraising and donor relations

Desired Skills and Qualities:

  • Strategic thinking and excellent problem-solving abilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for social impact and community development

  • Fluency in English and Cantonese

Working Hours and Location:

  • Full-time position based in Hong Kong

  • Regular working hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00 - 18:00 (One day work from home arrangement per week)

  • Flexible work arrangements available

  • Occasional evening and weekend work required for events and programs
