Technical Officer-Power/Environmental System Controller (Ref: 2500001A)
Control and monitor the power and environmental systems in Operations Control Centre (OCC) for the delivery of safe and reliable power and environmental services to operating railway
Carry out remote switching and give instructions to the site staff for local switching, isolation and earthing to the power equipment
Operate Environmental Control System (ECS) and Chiller Plant System to ensure a good environment to station operation, and work closely with Traffic Controllers for the traction power energisation and de-energisation arrangement for train services and fault recovery
Take appropriate actions to optimize the demand and electricity usage for energy saving, electricity utilization at the agreed ratio between the two power supply companies as well as requirements on station temperature under the Operating Agreement
Communicate with Infrastructure Engineering Control Centre / Facility Maintenance Office / Depot Control Centre and liaise with the site staff / OCC Controllers to undertake rectification work or remedial actions during system failure or in case of emergency
Review safety documents for routine maintenance and emergency recovery as well as system outages and maintenance activities related to the equipment between MTR and the power supply companies
Prepare safety documents as well as fault and incident reports for management review
Requirements
Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Electrical / Building Services engineering discipline
A minimum of 8 years’ electrical relevant experience, of which 3 years must be at supervisory level
Possession of the corporate qualification of AP(E), AP(M), knowledge in various types of Electrical & Mechanical equipment such as HV & LV equipment, chiller plant, station and train operations is an advantage
Good decision making, communication and report writing skills
Good command of Chinese and English with proficiency in Putonghua
Remarks
Candidates with lower qualification but extensive experience will also be considered
