Responsibilities

• Undertake design tasks with emphasis on passenger trains structure, bogie and mechanical system modification / maintenance / enhancement projects
• Provide in-house design technical solutions and/or oversee contractor design for site-specific conditions and design changes, as well as develop/approve technical and working drawings for effective implementation of improvement works
• Conduct investigation on rolling stock mechanical operation and maintenance issues
• Make recommendations to address technical problems of the existing system design and propose long term technical solutions with an aim to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient system for the Corporation
• Compile technical specifications, engineering standards, review design submissions, attend site inspection and testing & commissioning activities
• Conduct technical audit on rolling stock design and maintenance practices

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• A minimum of 8 years’ relevant engineering experience, of which 2 years should be at senior supervisory level
• Solid experience in rolling stock related design, vehicle dynamic, welding, pneumatic and brake systems, information technology or project management is an advantage
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese
