Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Equities to join our dynamic team. This newly created role, reporting into the front office under the Head of Equity Sales, will play a critical part in managing the full trade lifecycle, supporting trading desks, and ensuring seamless operations across our equities division.


Key Responsibilities

  • Trade Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire trade lifecycle, including capture, reconciliation, corporate actions, and client servicing.
  • Trade Support: Provide comprehensive support to trading desks by investigating exceptions, resolving issues, and addressing queries related to bookings and trade breaks.
  • Exception Handling: Analyse and resolve all trade exceptions promptly, handling client and trading desk inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Reporting and Escalation: Generate detailed reports on trade activities and issues, escalating matters as necessary.
  • Project Participation: Engage in ad hoc projects, collaborating with cross-functional and global counterparts.
  • Settlement and Reconciliation: Ensure settlement issues are handled properly, and trades are reconciled to prevent failures.
  • Trade Monitoring: Continuously monitor and resolve any failed or unmatched trades.
  • Reporting Methodology: Collaborate with peers to develop reporting methodologies supporting new products and business initiatives.

  • Key Requirements

    • Experience: 5-8+ years in a middle or back office role within a financial institution.
    • Trade Support Experience: Hands-on experience in trade support, reconciliation, and exception handling.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a relevant field.
    • Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
    • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and capacity for team collaboration.
    • Communication Skills: Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
    • Work Environment: Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues under pressure.
    • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Cantonese or Mandarin is also necessary.
