Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business. Strong academic credentials required. (Preference of candidates from a premier US University).
2 years professional full-time experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, or in a consulting firm (corporate finance or private equity)
Knowledge of business growth strategy and the risk/return characteristics of private equity investment opportunities
Basic understanding of financial statements and strong excel based financial modeling skills
Excellent technical skills including experience with workbooks, spreadsheets and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent work ethic and a high degree of professionalism and commitment to the team
Highly analytical
Strong interpersonal and communication skills including an ability to articulate thoughts clearly and concisely through written correspondence, presentations, and/or meetings
Flexibility and adaptability to handle changing priorities pertaining to workflow
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of Hindi is a plus, (not a requirement)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Undertake economic and private equity market research to develop investment theses, support the investment evaluation process, and synthesize findings into reports and presentations
Work with the investment team to evaluate fund investment, secondary opportunities, and direct co-investment opportunities, and synthesize due diligence findings into investment memos, financial models, formal investment analyses, and presentations
Be responsible for data collection, due diligence, financial modeling, deal execution, and portfolio management of primary fund investment, secondaries, and direct co-investment opportunities, as required
Participate in internal as well as external meetings/calls, and produce timely meeting notes with concise takeaways
Provide ongoing monitoring of assets within the Company’s portfolios including a review of quarterly performance
Interface daily with Managing Directors, Investment Team, CFO, General Counsel, and Managing Partner on investment execution
Extensive financial modeling, including return analysis to support potential investment opportunities
Provide financial evaluation of project investment opportunities including review of project documents
Support the investment team in negotiations/structuring, closing, and funding of new investments dealing with partnership agreements, financing agreements, and other project contacts that impact the project return
Establish and maintain a relationship with industry, trade, and professional organizations to enhance the visibility of the Company in the marketplace
Support senior investment colleagues on ad hoc initiatives and projects
Travel is likely to be limited but may be required in the area of assignment which could include India, and SEA
