COST AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT

Assistant Manager (24250132)

The appointee will be working under the Estates Office and be responsible for controlling and monitoring the cost and the contractual aspects of term contracts for routine repair and maintenance works, campus renovation and improvement works projects of the University. 

Responsibilities:

  • Control and monitor the cost and contractual aspects of the University's term contracts;
  • Supervise the term quantity surveying consultant (TQS) in the contract administration of the term contract;
  • Prepare cost estimates for the issuance of work orders under the term contracts; 
  • Coordinate, perform, and examine the re-measurement of works submitted by the term contractor;
  • Supervise and verify the payment valuations prepared by the TQS;
  • Administer the University's and Government's procedures for funding applications and the procurement process, including financial reporting to University Management, Committees, and the Government;
  • Assist in managing cost and contract matters for capital projects, alterations, additions and improvements (AA&I), and renovation projects; and
  • Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A recognised first degree in Quantity Surveying or related disciplines and be a full member of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification work experience; and
  • Hands-on experiences in handling government-funded capital/renovation projects in the last five years are advantages.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years.Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
