Senior Sports Facilities Supervisor / Sports Facilities Supervisor, Joint Sports Centre (24250081)

Established in May 1995 and funded by the University Grants Committee, the Joint Sports Centre is a collaborative initiative jointly owned and managed by three prestigious institutions: City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Baptist University, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Our Centre offers a wide range of outdoor sports facilities, catering to students, staff, immediate family members, and alumni for training, competitions, and recreational activities.

At the Joint Sports Centre, we take pride in maintaining the highest standards of operations. Our dedicated in-house team manages all cleaning, security, maintenance, and landscaping services, ensuring a seamless and well-maintained environment for all users.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Sports Facilities Supervisor / Sports Facilities Supervisor to lead our team and contribute to the continued success of our facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of sports facilities supervisors and frontline staff, ensuring efficient and effective operations;
  • Support the implementation and review of policies, procedures, and operational plans to ensure effective facility management, and provide recommendations for improvement;
  • Oversee job allocation and resource management for frontline staff to optimise productivity and service delivery;
  • Monitor facilities usage to ensure compliance with rules and regulations, while supporting the implementation and enforcement of facility policies and procedures;
  • Coordinate with cleaning, maintenance, landscaping, security teams and contractors to maintain high facility standards;
  • Coordinate with university departments, external organisations, and event organisers to plan and execute large-scale activities;
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and organise training programs for staff development;
  • Address and resolve escalated user complaints or operational issues promptly and professionally;
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards across all facilities;
  • Plan and execute long-term maintenance, upgrades, and improvement projects to enhance facility quality and functionality; and
  • Prepare detailed reports and analytics on facility usage, performance, and user satisfaction to support decision-making.

Requirements:

  • HKCEE 5 passes including English Language (at least grade C if Syllabus A / Level 2 from 2007), or at least 5 subjects attaining Level 2 in HKDSE including English Language and Chinese Language, or Yi Jin graduates, or a recognised Certificate or Diploma;
  • At least ten years of relevant and post-qualification work experience of which five years should be in the supervisor role;
  • Members of a professional institution will be an advantage;
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills in customer services skills; and
  • A proven track record in a similar role or relevant experience in a university sports association and sports centre/facilities.

Shortlisted candidates are required to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to performance review, mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Applicants with less relevant work experience may be considered for the post of Sports Facilities Supervisor.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
